Does your dog have what it takes to be a pet therapist? Your dog should enjoy meeting people and understand basic commands. We do not test dogs that have been trained for protection work, shown signs of aggression or trained using shock collars. Our certified teams work in many places including libraries, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, schools and more. We are proud members of The Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs which is located throughout the country.
Congratulations on wanting to train your dog for pet therapy!
Therapy Dogs are not Service Dogs. They provide comfort for those they visit.
Our therapy dog training program includes training for The Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dog test and familiarizing handlers with the safety guidelines. We also curate engaged discussions on Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) and provide resources for those that want to learn more about this exciting field.
Dorice Stancher, MBA, CPDT-KA, CTDI, AACE has more than 25 years as a therapy handler and has led the team at Camp Dream Street for children with cancer as well as presented at the Morristown Hospital Pet Therapy conference.
